Robert L. “Bobby” Clark – May 26, 2014

Robert L. “Bobby” Clark, 78, of Waverly, passed away Monday, May 26, 2014,
at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Born August 1, 1935, in Waverly, he was the son of the late Robert L. Clark,
Sr. and Mamie Drury Clark.  He was also preceded in death by his first wife,
Leone Nelson Clark, second wife, Mildred Clark, sister, Betty Jean Greene,
and brother, Edward Earl Clark.

Mr. Clark had been employed with Gilman Paper Company, as a heavy equipment
operator for 20 years, and then with Bulloch County Public Works in
Statesboro, retiring with 17 years of service.  He enjoyed gardening, and
was an avid Fox News fan.

Graveside services were held Thursday, May 29, 2014 at 11 am, at Homeward
Cemetery with Pastor Tom Dent officiating.  The family received friends on
Wednesday evening at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, from 6 to 8 pm.
Pallbearers: W.C. Turner, Matthew Turner, Ryan Barnes, Joe Clark, Michael
Barnes, Josh Barnes, Ethan Duncan, David Turner, and Hunter Adams.

Survivors include a son, Joey Clark (Kaye) of Kingsland; daughters, Jeanne
Barnes (Raymond) of Kennisaw, and Joy Lynn Turner (Bill) of Woodbine;
brother, James L. Clark (Betty) of Dallas; 8 grandchildren, 14 great
grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

The family wishes to send a special thanks to Davita South Staff, and Drs.
Grubb and Feely.  Memorials may be made to the Diabetes Foundation, 1211

Eula Mae Douglas – May 24, 2014

Eula Mae Vanzant Douglas, 94, of Kingsland, went to be with The Lord on
Sunday, May 25, 2014 in her home.

Born October 19, 1919 in Hilliard, FL, she was the daughter of the late Tiny
Oscar Vanzant and Nora Vanzant.  In addition to her parents, she was also
preceded in death by her husband, Ramsay Douglas, two daughters, Beverly
Brookshire and Elsie Hooks, two brothers Oscar Vanzant and David Vanzant,
and granddaughter, Cheryl Sheffield Gaskins.

Survivors include her son, Oscar Sinclair Lewis and wife Linda of Kingsland,
son in law, Trinton Hooks of Swainsboro, step daughter, Connie Douglas of
SC, step son, Randy Douglas and wife, Juanita of Kingsland, 8 grandchildren,
8 great grandchildren, 6 great great grandchildren, and many nieces and
nephews.

Mrs. Douglas was a member of Ruhamah Baptist Church for 76 years. She was a
Godly woman who loved The Lord very much. She wanted everyone to know her
Jesus. She said about a month ago,”We are to tell everyone about Jesus.
That’s what we are here for!”  She loved and cared for people. She said the
other day,” I love everybody!” She had a beautiful smile and a wonderful
laugh. She made life with her friends and family fun and meaningful. She
will surely be missed.

Funeral services were held Wednesday, May 28, 2014 at 11 am, at the Ruhamah
Baptist Church with Rev. Scott Huffman, Rev. Seymour Groover,  Rev. Allen
Brown and Rev. Doug Harris officiating.  Burial followed at Lawnwood Cemetery.

The family received friends at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys on
Tuesday evening from 6 to 8 pm.  Pallbearers:  David McGinnis, Daniel
Calhoun, Scott Huffman, Robbie Huffman, John McSwain, Braedyn Smith, Terry
Daniels, Michael Gaskins, and Brian Miller.

The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Douglas, be
made to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA

Harry H. Watson, Sr. – May 17, 2014

Harry H. Watson, Sr., 90, of Woodbine, passed away Saturday, May 17, 2014 at his residence.
Born April 13, 1924 in Quitman, GA, he was the son of the late Paul and Mildred Nims Watson.
Mr. Watson resided in Waycross until 1996 before moving to Camden County.  He was a self-employed auto mechanic for over 50 years, and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, serving his country honorably during WWII.  He was a very active member and Deacon of the Harriett’s Bluff First Baptist Church, taught the Men’s Sunday School Class, and was director of the Men’s Ministry.  He enjoyed fishing and gardening, and Loved the Lord and his family.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, May 20, 2014 at 11 am, at Harriett’s Bluff Baptist Church with Pastor Scotty Langford officiating.
Survivors include his loving wife of 48 years, Patsy Watson; children, Melita Humphries (Ted), Kay Screws (Rocky), Merinda L. Watson, Myra Pittman (Marlon), Gail Callahan (Byron), and Harry Watson, Jr.; brother, Donald Watson; grandchildren, Adam Humphries, Amber Barnes, Preston Varnadore, Merinda M. Watson, Timothy Watson, Cheryl Jordan, Richard Pittman, Jeremy Pittman, Glenn Baker, and Kim Butler; numerous great grandchildren.

Ruenell K. Thigpen – May 18, 2014

Ruenell K. Thigpen, 72, of St. Marys, passed away on Sunday, May 18, 2014, at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.
Born October 25, 1941, in Swainsboro, GA, she was the daughter of the late John L. and Idell Bell Kirkland.  She was also preceded in death by a brother, Dan Kirkland.
Mrs. Thigpen had resided in Camden County since 1986, and was a loving wife, mother, and sister.
Graveside services will be held held on Wednesday, May 21, 2014 at the Kirkland family cemetery in Emanuel County at 11 am, with Rev. Jamie Archer officiating.  The family will receive friends on Tuesday evening, May 20, 2014, at Durden-Hudson Funeral Home in Swainsboro, GA., from 6 pm until 8 pm.
Survivors include her husband, Dave Thigpen of St. Marys; daughter, Michelle Thigpen Dowling (Kenneth) of Sumner; son, Steven Lewis Thigpen of Conway, SC; sister, Gwen Farmer of Swainsboro; brothers, Wilder Kirkland, Don Kirkland, J.L. Kirkland, and Ed Kirkland all of Swainsboro; sister in law, Sonya Kirkland of Swainsboro, and numerous nieces and nephews.

David W. Lang – May 8, 2014

David W. Lang, 57, of Kingsland, passed away on Friday, May 8, 2014 at his residence.
Graveside services were held on Monday, May 12, 2014 at Brazell Cemetery in Kingsland, with Pastor George Anderson officiating.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of David, be made to the American Cancer Society.

Robert A. Blanchard – May 3, 2014

Robert A. Blanchard, 71, of St. Marys, passed away on Saturday, May 3, 2014 at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, FL.
Born March 27, 1943 in Passaic, NJ, he was the son of the late Gordon H. and Alice Bergeron Blanchard.
Mr. Blanchard had resided in Camden County for the past 8 years.  He started his own business, Process Controls Company in 1976, retiring in 1993, and turning the reigns over to his son, with the business still in operation.  He enjoyed boating, and loved being with his family.  He was of the Catholic faith.
Survivors include his wife, Susan Blanchard of St. Marys; son, Bob Blanchard, Jr., of Long Valley, NJ; two grandchildren, Jake Robert Blanchard and Tyler Andrew Blanchard.
A Memorial Mass will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2014, at 10 am from Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church in St. Marys, with Fr. Paul O’Donnell officiating.

G. Gleason Sweeney, IV – May 3, 2014

G. Gleason Sweeney, IV, 26, of Kingsland, passed away May 3, 2014 at Shands Jacksonville with his family by his side.

Gleason was born January 14, 1988 in Long Beach, California to George and Cathy (Pratt) Sweeney.  He loved surfing and traveling, and is survived by his brother and best friend, Ryan Sweeney, grandparents, Patricia Sweeney, Kathryn Evens, George Sweeney, Jr., Joseph Evens, and many beloved aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Gleason had a heart of gold that will continue to bless us as he donated many organs, so others can be helped

A celebration of life will be held on Friday, May 9, 2014 from 6pm to 8p. at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, 10141 Colerain Road, St. Marys, GA   31558.

Graig Walker – April 24, 2014

Graig Walker, 62, of Kingsland, passed away Thursday, April 24, 2014 at his residence.
Born March 28, 1952 in Jacksonville, FL, he was the son of the late James R. Walker, Sr. and Alice Collier Walker.  He was also preceded in death by a brother, Kent Walker.
Graig had resided in Camden County most all of his life, and was a Purchasing Agent with Georgia Pacific.  He loved to fish, shrimp, race boats, and was a member of the St. Marys United Methodist Church.
A gathering of friends and family, Celebrating the Life of Graig Walker,  will be held on Saturday, May 10, 2014, at 3 pm at the St. Marys Waterfront Park.
Survivors include his sister, Judy Walker of Fernandina Beach, FL; brother, James Walker, Jr. of Kingsland; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Graig, be made to the Camden County Humane Society.
