Rema Joyce Wentworth – July 4, 2014

Rema Joyce Wentworth, passed away July 4, 2014, in Jacksonville, FL.  She was born, in Oakdale, TN, May 19, 1940, the second of six girls, to Andy and Delcie Ruppe (both deceased).  She grew up in Dayton, Ohio, where she met and married her husband of 49 years, LT  Benny Wentworth, U.S. Navy (Retired).  Following her husband thru his 28 years of naval service, took her to Rhode Island, San Diego, CA, several European countries and finally Jacksonville, FL, in 1975.  Surviving Rema, in addition to her husband, are daughter, Elizabeth Brandt (Blair Reickman) of Holland, MI; son, MAJ Jesse Wentworth, U.S. Army (Kristen) , two grandchildren, Reagan and Jesse Wentworth, all of Norfolk, VA; sisters, Alene Payne (Big Sandy, TN), Emma Maddox (Englewood, OH), Wanda Smith (David) (Corbin, KY) and Carolyn Ruppe (Dayton, OH); sister-in-law, Billie McClure (Clearwater, FL) plus many nieces and nephews, and also, her very dear friend, Paula Brown. Rema’s sister, Pat Stephanitis, passed away in 1987.

Rema was a very loving and giving person ….ANY occasion was a gift giving occasion …sickness, birthdays, anniversaries, births, deaths, visitations, Christmas or for no reason at all ….she just loved to surprise someone with a gift.  Her infectious smile endeared everyone she met to her.  She was a SUPER Mom to two very successful children, fun loving grandmother, and a faithful and loving wife to a grateful husband.  She loved the Lord and to the best of her ability, exuded Jesus in her life.  The world has suffered a huge loss but Heaven has gained a good and faithful servant.

In Jacksonville, FL a viewing will be at 5:00 P.M., Monday, July 7, 2014 with memorial service following at 6:00 P.M., at Trinity Assembly of God Church, 9770 Hogan Road, Jacksonville, FL by Pastor Sam Atkinson of San Jose Baptist Church.

A graveside service and burial will be conducted by Minister David Brown, Caneyville Christian Church, in Bedford, KY at 1:00 P.M., Wednesday, July  9, 2014 at the Bedford Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to the American Arthritis Foundation.

William Revis Johnson, Sr. – July 2, 2014

William Revis Johnson, Sr., 79, of St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Born November 2, 1934 in Screven, GA, he was the son of the late Wade and Lilly Crawford Johnson.  He was also preceded in death by 3 sisters, Agatha Johnson, Geraldine Rowland, and Laura Jean Brooks, and a brother, Fred Johnson.
Mr. Johnson had resided in Camden County since 1964, and was retired from Gilman Paper Company with 34 years of service.  He was a Master Carpenter, always building beautiful furniture for his family, and enjoyed fishing, as well as being an avid football and nascar fan. He was a member of Westside Baptist Church and will be greatly missed by his family, friends, and his church family.
Survivors include his loving wife, Peggy L. Johnson of St. Marys, two sons, Reggie Johnson (Cathy) of Kingsland, and David Johnson (Dee) of St. Marys, daughter, Lori J. Johnson (Matt) of St. Marys, sister, Gladys Graham and brother, Harold Johnson, both of Fernandina Beach, FL., five grandchildren, Nikki Ralph, Cody Johnson, Kayla Johnson, Haleigh Carter, and Miranda Johnson, six great grandchildren, Ashley Taylor, Braelyn Ralph, Lily Johnson, Tenley Johnson, Boe Carter, and Cheyenne Carter.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 5th, at Westside Baptist Church at 11 am with Pastor Mark Gentry officiating.  The family received friends at the church one hour prior to services.  Burial followed at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys.

Robert L. Anderson – July 1, 2014

Robert L. Anderson, 69, of St. Marys, passed away on Tuesday, July 1, 2014 at his residence.
Robert was born June 19, 1945 in Chicago, IL, and was the son of the late James and Frances Anderson.
Private memorial services and inurnment will be held at a later date.

Judon A. Haviland, Jr. – June 28, 2014

Judson A Haviland, Jr., 67, of St. Marys, passed away June 28, 2014 at the VA Hospital in Gainesville, FL.
Born March 15, 1947 in Neptune, NJ, he was the son of the late Catherine E. and Judson A. Haviland, Sr.
Jud was raised in Asbury Park, NJ, and lived in Wall Township, NJ for 30 years before retiring to St. Marys in 2004.  He owned and operated the party boat, “The Ranger” in Belmar, NJ during the 70’s.  Thereafter, he repaired and restored many wooden boats throughout Monmouth and Ocean counties in NJ.  He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy, having served on the Presidential Yacht under President Lyndon B. Johnson, and served his country honorably during the Vietnam Era.  He was an extremly talented man, devoted husband, loving father, and world’s best Pop-Pop.  He will be dearly missed by many.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Ruth Haviland of St. Marys, daughter, Kati Maguire and husband Shaun of St. Marys, and his beautiful grandchildren Sarah, Judson, Luke, and Molly.
Private Memorial Services will be held by the family at a later date.
