Frank Y. Thomas – September 21, 2014

Frank Y. Thomas, 85, of St. Marys, passed away Sunday, September 21, 2014 at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.

A life long resident of Camden County, he was the son of the late George and Janie Hernandez Thomas.  He was also preceded in death by his wife Annie Lucille Ulmer Thomas.

Mr. Thomas was retired from Gilman Paper Company, Bag Plant with 28 years of service, and a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably during the Korean Conflict.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday, September 24th, from 11 am to 12 noon, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.  Graveside services will follow at 12:30 pm at Oak Grove Cemetery.

Survivors include his children, Michael Thomas (Sharon) of Hortense, Jerry Thomas of Brunswick, and Jerri Lynn Thomas of St. Marys; brother Martin Thomas of Kingsland, and sister, Elizabeth Slaughterback of St. Marys; two grandchildren, Steven Michael Thomas, and Charles Anthony Thomas; four great grandchildren, Kaitlyn Pitts, Michaela Thomas, Gauge Thomas, and Addelyn Thomas; several nieces and nephews.

Saleta Kay Morgan – September 13, 2014

Saleta Kay Morgan, 38, of Woodbine, passed away on Saturday, September 13, 2014 at her residence.
Saleta was born January 25, 1976 in Tampa, Florida.  She had been a resident of Camden County for the past 17 years, and was a member of Hidden Treasures Assembly of God.  She was a former member of Camden Freewill Baptist Church.  Saleta also taught art at New Hope Christian Academy.  She loved her church involvement, always being involved and dedicated to her children.  She was a member of the ladies study groups, as well  as a supporter in the ministries.  She was a loving wife, mother, and daughter.
A Celebration of Saleta’s Life will be held on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Hidden Treasures Assembly of God from 6 to 8 pm with Pastor’s Rick and Shannon Arreola, and Pastor Devon Knight officiating.
Survivors include her husband, Patrick Morgan of Woodbine; eight children, Rebecca Gustafson, Alissa Gustafson, Christianna Gustafson all of Woodbine, Andrew Gustafson of Washington State, Madison Morgan, Patrick Morgan, Jr., Bruce Morgan, and Kelsey Driver all of Woodbine; father, David Lackey of Woodbine; mother in law, Bonnie Fowler of Fulton, NY; brother, John and sisters, Chris and Pam; several nieces, nephews, and cousins.  Saleta was preceded in death by her mother, Glyn Thomas Lackey.

Jerry W. Boyette – September 4, 2014

Jerry W. Boyett, passed away at the age of 63 years old on September 4, 2014, to be with the Lord.

His mother and father, Quinton and Louise Boyett, as well as his brother preceded him in death.

He is survived by his loving wife, Donna Boyett of Fernandina Beach, FL, two stepsons and their wives, Kevin Hamilton (Margaret), of Danbury, CT, and Jeffrey Hamilton (Elizabeth) of Philadelphia, PA.; sister and her husband, Beth Steverson (Timmy), and brother and his wife, Glen Boyett (Alesia).

There will be a “Celebration of Life” for Jerry to be determined at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, donations in Jerry’s name may be made to the American Heart Association, 5851 St. Augustine RD, Jacksonville, FL or the Nassau Humane Society, 671 Airport RD., Fernandina Beach, FL 32034, would be greatly appreciated.

Pauline Haney – September 8, 2014

Pauline Haney, 65, of Kingsland, passed away on Monday, September 8, 2014, at Shands Jacksonville.

Survivors include a two daughters, Krystal Robbins, and  Jeana Arnaud, both of Kingsland.

Private memorial services are being held at a later date by the family.
