Delmus Crews – November 21, 2015

Delmus W. Crews, 73, of Kingsland, passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015, at UF Health Shands in Jacksonville, FL.
Born July 7, 1942 in Winokur, GA, he was the son of the late Rufus F. and Minnie Johns Crews.  He was also preceded in death by his sister, Annie Jane Knight and brother, R.C. Crews.
Mr. Crews was retired from Gilman Paper Company with 25 years of service, and also retired from Smurfit Stone Container in 2004.  He was very well known as “Mr. Fix It” and PR man at Steffen’s Restaurant, and member of the round square table.  He enjoyed Nascar and Football, especially his Georgia Bulldogs, and was a charter member of the St. Marys Church of God of Prophecy.  His family was most important to him, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild whom he adored.
Memorial services will be held Tuesday, November 24, 2015 at 3 pm at the St. Marys Church.
Survivors include his loving wife of 52 years, Trellis M. Crews of Kingsland; daughter, Christina Crews O’Steen (Samuel) of Kingsland; sons, Tony J. Crews (Seth) of Atlanta and Jeremy W. Crews of Kingsland; four brothers, Newton E. Crews (Eliza) of Nahunta, William M. Crews (Earlene) of Kingsland, Robert E. Crews (Alice Sue) of Woodbine, and Donald M. Crews (Carol) of Jacksonville, FL; six grandchildren, Kayleigh N. Crews, Mac McGuire, Sheldon O’Steen, Ciara O’Steen, Jordan O’Steen, Ryan O’Steen; great grandchild, Ashlyn Moore; several  nieces and nephews.

Darrell E. Simmers – November 21, 2015

Darrell E. Simmers, 59, of St. Marys passed away Saturday, November 21, 2015 at Southeast Georgia Health System Camden Campus.
Born July 1, 1956 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Paul F. Simmers, Jr, and the late Geraldine King Simmers.
Darrell had resided in Camden County since 1990 and was an EMT, firefighter and trainer.  He took great pride in his position as Mobile Aircraft Fire trainer with the Department of Navy in Mayport, FL, with his training taking place in Key West, Cuba, Hawaii, and Canada.  Darrell was also owner of Southern Express Towing in Camden County for the past six years.  He was a loving and devoted husband, father, brother and grandfather.
A Celebration of Darrell’s Life will be held on Saturday, November 28, 2015 at 11 am at Allison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Michael Easter officiating.  An inurnment will be held at a later date.
Survivors include his wife, Pamela Simmers of St. Marys; daughter, Kimberly Thompson of Kingsland; son, Darrell E. Simmers, Jr. of St. Marys; sisters, Lynne Franklin (Berkley) of Port Charlotte, FL, and Sharan Fosbinder (David) of Orlando, FL; five grandchildren, Tyler, Devin, Morghan, Emily, and Anthony; great grandchild, Abby; several nieces and nephews.

Tristan Drew Lippmann – November 20, 2015

Tristan Drew Griffith Lippmann passed away unexpectedly Wednesday, November 18, 2015 at the age of 19. She was a graduate of Trinity Catholic High School in Stamford, CT, Class of 2014, where she was a member of the varsity volleyball team. Tristan spent her last days doing what she loved: spending time on the beach, working with animals, and laughing with friends and family.

Tristan is survived by her parents, Craig and Kim Lippmann and sister, Sydney, of Fernandina Beach, FL; grandparents Elbert and Barbara Griffith of Knoxville, TN; grandparents Bob and Barb Lippmann of Bluffton, SC; uncle Michael Griffith, of Rockwood, TN; uncle Doug Lippmann of Baltimore, MD; and aunt and uncle Rob and Star Lippmann, and cousin Abbey, of Coatesville, PA. She was predeceased by grandmother Barbara Lippmann of Lansdale, PA. Her infectious smile, free spirit and unconditional kindness will also be missed by many other friends and family across the country, including California, Pennsylvania, South Carolina, Tennessee, Florida and especially in her beloved Connecticut  .

A memorial service will be held Friday, November 27, 2015, 6pm at Weaver Funeral Home in Knoxville, TN. In lieu of flowers, you may go to any Wells Fargo location with a check made out to the Tristan Lippmann Donation Fund, a scholarship program to help send youth with a financial need to college.  A memorial service will also be held at a later date in Stamford, CT.

James H. Withrow – November 11, 2015

James H. Withrow, 77, of St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden Campus.

Mr. Withrow was born December 10, 1937 in Harlem, GA, and was the son of the late James L. Withrow and the late Marguerite Withrow-Doster.

Mr. Withrow had resided in Camden County since 1957, and was retired from Gilman Paper Company with 43 years of service.  He was a Ham radio operator,  enjoyed hunting and fishing and was of the Methodist faith.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Memorial services will be held on Monday, November 16, 2015 at 5 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Pastor Greg Gardell officiating.

Survivors include his wife, Pat Withrow of St. Marys; son, Chris Withrow of Harrietts Bluff; grandchild, Lauren Withrow and extended family, Tara Tyre and Trey Dowling.

The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mr. Withrow be made to the National Down Syndrome Society www.ndss.org

Valerie Lynn Cobb – November 9, 2015

Valerie Lynn Cobb, 48, of St. Marys, passed away Monday, November 9, 2015 at UF Health Shands in Jacksonville, FL.

Valerie was born August 14, 1967 in Massena, NY.  She was a 1985 graduate of Massena  High School in Massena, NY. Valerie was a member of the Restoration Church.  She was very active in her church, as well as the Multiple Sclerosis Society.   She was a great friend to everyone who knew her and loved by all.  She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, and sister.  Her memory will never be forgotten.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, November 12, 2015 from 6 pm to 8 pm at the Restoration Church in St. Marys.  Services will be held on Friday, November 13, 2015, at 10 am at the Restoration Church with Pastor Greg Gardell officiating.

Survivors include her husband, David Cobb, and son, David H. Cobb, II, of St. Marys; mother and step-father, Carolyn and Thomas A. Myers of Dallas, GA; father and step-mother, Kenneth and Nancy Moniere of Madrid, NY; brother and sister in law, Christopher and Sharon Moniere of Virginia Beach, VA; sister and brother in law, Jill and Jonathon Cox of Marietta, GA; several nieces and nephews.

The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Valerie be made to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society.

Josie Lynn Berry Belmont – November 1, 2015

Josie Lynn Berry Belmont, 57, of Woodbine, GA, passed away Sunday, November
1, 2015 at Specialty Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.

Josie was born April 18, 1958 in Concord, NH.  She had been a resident of
Camden County, GA, since 1989 and was a Homemaker.  She loved to cook,
enjoyed writing poetry, and was a fundraiser for charities that were
important to her.

A private service and inurnment will be held at a later date in New
Hampshire.

Survivors include her husband, Joseph T. Belmont, Jr. of Woodbine, GA;
mother, Marion Berry of Eliot, ME; brother and sister in law, James and Darla Berry; three sisters in law, Janis Belmont, Toni Belmont, and Jill Johnstone; niece, Jennifer Earl-Belmont; three nephews,  Jacob Belmont, Philip Belmont, and Lucas Belmont.  She was preceded in death
by her father, Stanley C. Berry.
