Tina Oliver Breeding – April 10, 2016

Tina Oliver Breeding, 56, of St. Marys, passed away Sunday, April 10, 2016 at Baptist Medical Center in Jacksonville, FL.
Tina was born August 23, 1959 in Huntsville, AL, and had resided in Camden County since 2002.  She was a graduate of S.R. Butler High School in Huntsville, AL, and graduate of Wallace State College in Decatur, AL.  She was employed with Specialty Adhesives CO.
Tina, better known to all as momma “T”, was touched and loved by anyone she met.  She was a loving wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 14, 2016 at 11:00 am, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.
Survivors include her husband, Steven Breeding, son, Seth Oliver Breeding (Jennifer), and daughter, Sharon Niki Breeding all of St. Marys; father and stepmother, John and Becky Oliver of Athens, AL; two sisters, Donna Oliver Bryant (Randy) of Perry, Cheryl Oliver Carrasco (Roderick) of Thompsons’ Station, TN; brother, Jay Oliver (Sherry) of Hilton Head, SC; four grandchildren, Baleigh, Azrael, Marlee, and Anikan; many nieces and nephews.  Tina was preceded in death by her mother, Sharon VanDyke Oliver.
The family requests in lieu of flowers that memorial contributions in memory of Tina Breeding be made to the Southeast Georgia Health System Foundation, Cancer Care Program, 2415 Parkwood Drive, Brunswick, GA 31520.

Barbara L. King – April 8, 2016

Mrs. Barbara Loretta King, 68, of St Marys, Georgia, passed away Friday morning at her home after an extended illness.

Barbara was born November 15, 1947 in Providence, Rhode Island, and was the daughter of the late Rufus H. and Alice E. Holton.

She was a very loving mother, wife and grandmother who adored her family.   She was a very active member of Westside Baptist Church where she served for 50 years and loved her church family.   Barbara was a true blessing to her family and friends and will be missed greatly.

Survivors include her beloved husband of 50 years Tommy L. King of St. Marys, Georgia, two daughters Kim Wimpey and her husband Ricky of St. Marys, Georgia and their daughter Meagan Morrison (16) and Kellie Kimbrell and her husband Mike of Florence, Alabama and their children Peyton (19), Madison (15) and Ashton (14), one brother James Holton (Shirley) of Blackshear, Georgia, one sister Debbie Pittman (Neal) of Homerville, Georgia and many nieces, nephews and other family.

Funeral services will be held at Westside Baptist Church on Monday, April 11 at 11:00 am, with Pastor Mark Gentry, Pastor Greg Gardell and Pastor Verdell Griffin officiating.  Graveside services will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends Sunday evening at the funeral home from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Pallbearers: McL Carter, Billy Hope, Roger Pate, Paul Payne, Teddy Varnedore, Larry Guinn, Evan Cantrell, and Paul Donahue.  Honorary: Steve Meeks, Adrian Meeks, Denny Hill, Lamar Warren, and Don Powell.

Doris Fewox Beck – April 4, 2016

Doris Fewox Beck, 84, of St. Marys passed away peacefully at her residence, surrounded by her family on Monday, April 4, 2016.
Born September 9, 1931 in Hoboken, GA, she was the daughter of the late Moses and Linnie Strickland Griffin.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Ray Beck, Jr., four brothers, Theodore Griffin, P.Q. Griffin, Dempsey Griffin and Miller Griffin, and two sisters, Dorothy Davis O’Steen and Karen Griffin.
Doris could accomplish anything she set her mind to do. She became an accomplished seamstress (all self-taught) and used her talents to make beautiful draperies, men’s suites, and children’s and women’s clothing.
She became a licensed practical nurse in the 1970s. She said she became interested in nursing because she loved learning about new medical procedures and information. Above all, she enjoyed helping others.
Doris worked many years in various positions including in the emergency and operation rooms at Gilman Hospital in St. Marys, Georgia. She later transferred to S.E. Georgia Medical Center in Brunswick, Georgia, where she worked in Cardiac Rehabilitation. While working for over 20 years in the medical profession, she also was involved in various clubs in her residence of Camden County, Georgia.
She loved her family and friends with a fierce devotion. Doris will be remembered as a true Southern lady, a steel magnolia, a woman with style and grace, who always had a smile on her face, and a follower of Jesus Christ. While she has left this earth, her homecoming in heaven is truly a comfort to those she has left behind. While we will miss our mother, sister, aunt, and friend, her legacy of love will live on through the many family members and friends who loved her dearly.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at 11:00 am at the First Baptist Church of St. Marys, with Pastor Steve Kegley officiating.  Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services.
Survivors include four children, Pamela Kimes (Chuck), Brad Fewox (Sheila), Bryan Fewox (Susan), all of St. Marys and Paula Valliere (John) of Ashburn, VA; four sisters, Joyce Britt and Cora Bell Dowling both of Nahunta, Cathryn Strickland (Donald) of Townsend and Wanda Hagin of Waycross; eight grandchildren, Hoss Hogan, Greg Hogan, Mindy Renee Williams, Nicholas Fewox, Jennifer Blount, Erica Rafferty, Connor Valliere and Ryan Valliere; nine great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Michael Malone Smith – April 3, 2016

Michael M. Smith, 69, of St. Marys passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Private services will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army in St. Marys or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.

Francis Joseph Diamond – April 2, 2016

Francis Joseph Diamond, 90, of St. Marys, passed away Saturday, April 2, 2016 at Woodland Health Care in Midway.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, April 7, 2016 at Princess Anne Memorial Park in Virginia Beach, VA, at 10:00 am.

James Steven Baker – April 1, 2016

James Steven Baker, 48, of Yulee, FL., passed away Thursday, April 1, 2016 at Southeast Georgia Health System, Brunswick.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 5, 2016 at 11:00 am at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Pastor Greg Gardell officiating.

Shirley M. Davis – March 30, 2016

Shirley M. Davis, 73, of Kingsland, passed away Wednesday, March 30, 2016 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Born November 8, 1942 in Lafayette, GA, she was the daughter of the late Shields L. and Eunice Wallen Fitzpatrick.  She was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother.
Shirley had resided in Camden County for the past 30 years, and was retired from American Body Armor with 18 years of service.  She enjoyed walking on the beach, sewing, shopping, and taking care of her husband “Dave”.  She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother.
Private family services will be held at a later date.
Survivors include her loving husband of 31 years, J.W. “Dave” Davis of Kingsland; daughter, Jennifer D. Russo (Mark) of Mechanicsville, VA; sister, Linda Martin of Lafayette, GA; four grandchildren, Samantha, Rebecka, Evelyn, and Jonathan Russo; several nieces , nephews, a host of friends, and her two grand dogs Bailey and Bear.
