Jean Arlene Phillips – May 11, 2016

Jean Arlene Phillips, 80, of St. Marys passed away Wednesday, May 11, 2016 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Born March 15, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Alvin and Janie Clements Stump.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Henry O. Phillips, four sisters and two brothers.
Mrs. Phillips had been a resident of Camden County for the past 58 years, and was a member of Agape Christian Fellowship Church.
Funeral services will be held Sunday at St. Marys Presbyterian Church at 2:00 pm with Rev. Rick Douylliez and Pastor Jonny Rodgers officiating.  Burial to follow at Burnt Fort Cemetery.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 14, 2016 from 2 to 4 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.
Pallbearers: Erik Stanland, Robbie Laster, Michael Wainwright, Josh Wainwright, Dylan Anderson, and Ryan Anderson.
Survivors include two daughters, Deborah Anderson of St. Marys and Michelle Stanland ((Erik) of Yulee, FL; step-daughter, Sandra Call (Dennis) of St. Marys; brother, Butch Eaton (Bonnie) of Yulee, FL; sister, Mary Jane Seidel of Yulee, FL; eight grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.

Diana Renee Carroll Tanner – May 9, 2016

Diana Renee Carroll Tanner, 48, affectionately known as “Lovey” by family and friends, passed away suddenly at home Monday, May 9, 2016, after a recent illness. Employed by Wal-Mart in St. Mary’s, Georgia, Lovey developed close relationships with her coworkers and numerous customers during her 20-year service as a Licensed Certified Pharmacy Technician. She was a 1985 graduate of Ware County High School moving to St. Mary’s in 1988.

A free spirit, generous and independent Lovey easily turned friends into family. She enjoyed time at the beach and fishing with her son Hunter. Renee was born August 2, 1967 in Palatka, Florida. She is survived by her son Hunter Trey Howell, of St. Mary’s, Georgia, who she adored and was the light of her life. She is also survived by her parents, Alford John “A.J.” Sr. and Glenda Carroll of Waycross; a brother John Carroll, Jr. and his wife Vicy of Hahira, Georgia; a nephew, Jonathon Bryant Carroll of Hahira, Georgia; numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends also survive her.

Her Grandparents Walter and Lois Wilkinson, Luther Carroll and Virginia and Don LeDrew preceded her in death.

Visitation services will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Mary’s, Georgia, Friday May 13, 2016 from 5:00-7:00 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held at the Miles-Odum Funeral Home Chapel in Waycross, Georgia, Saturday May 14, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in Oakland Cemetery.

June E. Robbins – May 4, 2016

June E. Robbins, 90, of St. Marys passed away Wednesday, May 4, 2016 at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys.
Born July 18, 1925 in Struthers, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late John and Frances Barris Fowler.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Norman E. Robbins.
Coming from Yulee, FL, she had been a resident of Camden County for the past four years.  She enjoyed cooking and decorating for all Holidays and family occasions, and her hobbies included art work, crafts, puzzles and was a huge collector of Disney memorabilia.  She was a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include her daughter and son in law, Linda L. and Oscar Lewis of St. Kingsland; two grandchildren, Kim Lewis and Kellie McSwain; two great grandchildren, Ashley Daniels and Braedyn Smith; one great great grandchild, Ethan Daniels.
Graveside services were held Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Brazell Cemetery  at 11:00 am with Pastor Seymour Groover and Pastor Doug Harris officiating.

Carol Ann Nissen – May 1, 2016

Carol Ann Nissen, 63, of Brunswick passed away Sunday, May 1, 2016 at St. Vincent’s Hospital in Jacksonville.

Memorial services will be held Sunday, May 22, 2016 at 3:00 pm at King of Peace Episcopal Church in Kingsland, with Fr. Al Crumpton officiating.
