Helen Haycock Stanley – January 26, 2017

Helen Haycock Stanley, 79, of St. Marys passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at Community Hospice, Warner Center in Fernandina Beach, Florida.
Mrs. Stanley was born January 30, 1937 in Glasgow, Scotland.  She attended schools in Scotland, was a Homemaker, and was  a member of the Church of Scotland.
Survivors include her husband, Barney Daniel Stanley of St. Marys; five children, Linda Turley of England, Helen Kelly (Lawrence) of Scotland, Audrey Hicks of Jacksonville, FL, David Stanley of Jacksonville, FL, and Gary Stanley (Tabatha) of Jacksonville, FL; sisters, Moria Rooney of Scotland and Cathie Mackie of Canada; beloved grandmother of ten grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren.
Memorial services were held Sunday, January 29, 2017 at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Pastor Greg Gardell officiating.

John Charles Lewis – January 26, 2017

John Charles Lewis, 51, of Kingsland passed away Thursday, January 26, 2017 at his residence.
Born October 25, 1965 in Folkston, Georgia, he was the son of Major and Mary Gant Lewis.  He had lived in Camden County most all of his life, and served in the Marine Corp Reserve for six years.  He was employed with the City of Kingsland for over 25 years.
Survivors include his son, Kenneth Lewis of Kingsland; parents, Major and Mary Gant Lewis of Kingsland; two grandchildren, Jackson Lewis and Vaydah Lewis.
Graveside services will be Monday, January 30, 2017 at 2:00 pm at Lawnwood Cemetery with Pastor Gregg Gardell officiating.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of John Charles Lewis be made to the Veteran of Foreign Wars in Kingsland, GA.

Debra Kay Basone – January 20, 2017

Debra Kay Basone, 57, of St. Marys passed away Friday, January 20, 2017 at Southeast Georgia Health System, Camden.
Debra was born December 13, 1959 in Canton, Ohio, and had resided in Camden County for the past 22 years.  She always took care of anyone who was in need or just needing help, putting them before her own needs.  She had a Heart of Gold and never met a stranger.  She attended Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
Survivors include her loving family, Pete Pinczes of St. Marys; three children, Nicole M. Pierce (Michael), Angelo Pinczes, and Connie Sue Pinczes all of St. Marys; three sisters, Renee Basone, Angela Carlin, and Crissy DeVera all of Ohio; two brothers, Nick Basone and Tommy Basone both of Florida; grandchild, Adrianna Pierce and several nieces and nephews.
Private family memorial services will be held at a later date.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Debra be made to the American Cancer Society.

Alexander Bache Perry – January 14, 2017

Alexander B. Perry, 89, of St. Marys, passed away Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.

Mr. Perry was born March 21, 1927 in Helena, Montana, and was the son of the late Owen and Margaret Bache Perry.  He had resided in Camden County since 1999 and was a retired businessman.  Mr. Perry served in the United States Navy, serving his country honorably during WWII.

Survivors include his wife, Martha Perry of St. Marys; four children: Georgiana Veneziano (Jim) of Bolder, CO, Charlotte Perry of Washington, DC, Frances Perry (Andres) of Buenos Aires, Argentina, and A. Bache Perry (Valerie) of Burbank, CA; sister, Avery Wall of Bolder, CO;  six grandchildren.

An inurnment will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery in Jacksonville, FL

Constance “Connie” L. Smith – January 11, 2017

Constance “Connie” L. Smith, 83, of St. Marys passed away January 11, 2017 at her residence.
Born February 17, 1933 in Holyoke, MA, she was the daughter of the late George and Elizabeth Pleau.  She was also preceded in death by her husband, Wendell E. Smith, daughter, Cindy Bradley, and sister, Mary Salois.
Mrs. Smith worked most of her life in retail, and raised her children in Southwick, MA prior to moving to St. Marys.  Since retirement she enjoyed going on cruises, working on puzzles, painting, and spending time with friends at the St. Marys Senior Center.
Survivors include a daughter, Deborah Varley-Puza of Chester, MA; 2 sons, Scott Smith of Kingsland, and Todd Smith (Kristin) of St. Marys; brother, Cal Pleau (Pauline) of Ocala, FL; sister in law, Priscilla Balch of Jacksonville, FL; 16 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be held Monday, January 16, 2017 at 6:00 pm at Christ Church Camden with Pastor Scott Clevenger officiating.  An inurnment will be held at a later date at Jacksonville National Cemetery.

Megan Elizabeth Fitzwater – January 6, 2017

Megan Elizabeth Fitzwater, 32, of St. Marys, passed away Friday, January 6,
2017 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.
Megan was born October 4, 1984 in Amarillo, Texas.  She had been a
resident of Camden County for 21 years, prior moving to Brunswick the past 2
years.  She was a 2002 Camden County High graduate where she was on
the softball and golf teams.  Following, she attended Valdosta State College.
Megan loved surfing, reading, going to the beach, collecting turtles, and was an
avid Florida Gators fan. Her legacy will live on in the many women she mentored at the Heather House of Glynn and The Grace House of Brunswick.  She was a loving mother and daughter, loved life and feared nothing.
She is survived by her parents, Denise and Jeff Padilla of Kingsland and
Charles and Darlene Fitzwater of Ohio; two daughters, Jordan Campbell of
Kingsland, and Parker Shook of Yulee, FL; four sisters, Sarah Davidson (Adam),
Raechel McCullough (Allen), Heather Hatton Mancha (Nick), and Brandy Fitzwater;
fiancé, Robert McKie of Brunswick; she enjoyed a special relationship with her grandparents,
Betty Jo Simmons, and Roger and Judy Fitzwater; several nieces, nephews, aunts,
and uncles.
Memorial services will be held Saturday, January 14, 2017 at Christ Church
Camden at 2:00 pm, with Pastor Allison Murray officiating.

Ann Sanders Moore – January 5, 2017

Ann Sanders Moore, 61, Of St. Marys passed away Thursday, January 5, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Moore was born September 18, 1955 in Knoxville, TN, and had been a resident of Camden County for the past 2 1/2 years.  She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in St. Marys.
Mrs. Moore was a 1977 graduate of Clemson University, and following her graduation she was employed with Cherokee Medical Center, SC, Greenville Memorial, Greenville, SC, and Atlanta Medical Center, Atlanta, GA.  She was a Registered Nurse specializing in Wound and Ostomy.
Survivors include her husband, Johnny Moore of St. Marys; two sons, Justin Moore (Amanda), and John Avery Moore (Rebekah) all of St. Marys; mother, Martha Sanders of Sylva, NC; two brothers, Buddy Sanders (Donna) of Sylva, NC, and David Sanders (Jane) of Taylors, SC; five grandchildren, Jonah Moore, Isadora Moore, Charity Hull, Camryn Hull, and Gabe Hull.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 13, 2017 at Christ Episcopal Church in St. Marys at 10:30 am, with The Rev. Dedre Bell officiating.

Dorothy C. Eberwein – January 3, 2017

Dorothy Eberwein, 70, of St. Marys, passed away Tuesday, January 3, 2017 at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick, GA.
Memorial services will be held Friday, January 6th, at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys at 1:00 pm.
Survivors include her three children, Kris Eberwein (Tamra), Laura Elliott (Jim), and Robert Helms, III; two sisters, Karen Sisco and Betty Jean Lucas; seven grandchildren, Miles Eberwein, Maggie Eberwein, Tyler Elliott, Dawson Elliott, Ashley Helms, Logan Helms, and Jordan Helms.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Eberwein be made to the Diabetes Foundation
