PATRICIA METZLER PAULK…82, of Kingsland, GA, passed away January 1, 2017 at her home following an extended illness.
She was known as Pat, Patsy, beloved wife, mother, nana, sister, aunt, Realtor, teacher and collegiate athlete.
Born in Toledo, Ohio on December 4, 1934. Daughter of the late John & Ruth Metzler. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Robert Metzler. Married to James D. Paulk, Jr. on June 8, 1957 in Swarthmore, PA. Her husband Jim was a graduate of the Naval Academy and they were honored to have representatives of all branches of the military in their bridal party.
She is survived by her devoted husband Jim Paulk, daughters; Pam Paulk Minor & Linda Readdick, and son James Thomas Paulk; 4 grandchildren, Jennifer Johnsen Holmes, Melanie Johnsen, Meagan & Dylan Mingirulli; Brother and sister in law David & Ginny Metzler and other extended family members.
Patricia was a graduate of the University of Delaware with a bachelor’s degree in Education; President of the Huntington Beach/Fountain Valley Association of Realtors and was honored for her dedication and service as Realtor of the Year in 1994. Pat was also the first women to ever serve as chairman of the finance committee for the HB/FV Board of Realtors. She also held the GRI designation: which is the nation’s number one real estate designation.
She enjoyed many years of boating and fishing off of both coasts: the Pacific & Atlantic Oceans and numerous other lakes & rivers with her husband, children, grandchildren and friends. Pat’s fishing awards were many, with her most notable award when she won the award for catching the largest tuna of the year by a woman angler in the southern California region. She was also a great Captain on their boat the Kingfisher.
A memorial service to celebrate her life will be held on Sat. February 4th at 11am at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys.
