Marlene D. Wright – May 24, 2019

Marlene D. Wright (née Miller), 78, died peacefully surrounded by her family on May 24, 2019.

Marlene was the beloved wife of James B. Wright for almost 51 years and the loving mother of Debra Ryan (William), Steven J. (Michele), and Michael C. (Stacey.) She was the doting Nana and Grammy to Chase Wright, James Ryan, William Ryan, Miller Wright, Gwynna Ryan, Peyton Wright and Curtis Wright. Marlene was the daughter of Curtis Miller, Freida Fay Purdy and Rose Miller. She was predeceased by her parents, brother Richard H. Miller and step-brother Ronald Lenhart. Besides her husband, children and grandchildren she is survived by her dear step-sister Rita Wagner, many brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

A memorial service will be held on June 15, 2019 at 2:00 pm at the Allison Memorial Chapel: 10141 Colerain Rd, St Marys, GA 31558. Interment at the Jacksonville, Florida National Cemetery will be private and held at a later date. Marlene’s family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and aides at University of Florida Trauma Center and Community Hospice Dr. Gaston J. Acosta-Rua Center for Caring for their skillful and compassionate care. Harold Holton Stoddard, Jr.

Harold Holton Stoddard, Jr., 75, of Kingsland, GA, passed away May 9, 2019 at his residence.

Mr. Stoddard had resided in Camden County for the past 15 years.  He was retired from CSC with 42 years of service.  He was an alumni for the Bryant
College, and the University of New Haven, life member of the Groton Elks Lodge #2163, life member of the Pioneer Hose County Fire Department, and member of the Hosta Society.

Mr. Stoddard enjoyed boating, gardening, and was an avid Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots fan.

Survivors include his loving wife of 53 years, Carol Stoddard of Kingsland, GA.; children, John Stoddard (Charlene) of Groton, CT., and Craig Stoddard (Shannon) of St. Marys, GA.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Charlotte Stoddard.

There are no services scheduled at this time.

Aaron Bernard Pohl – May 7, 2019

Aaron Bernard Pohl, 38, of Orlando, Florida, passed away May 7, 2019 in St. Marys, Georgia.

Aaron was born May 16, 1980 in Hinesville, Georgia, and a 1998 graduate of Camden County High School.  He was a veteran to the United States Air Force, and enjoyed traveling and fishing.

Aaron was employed by FAA from 2004 to the present, as a USAF Airfield System Technician.

Survivors include his wife, Natalie Pohl of Orlando; parents, John and Susan Pohl of Kingsland, and sister Ruthann Pohl of Chesapeake, VA.

Calling hours will be held Saturday, May 11, 2018 at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.

Clinton Anstead – May 1, 2019

Clinton Doyle Anstead, Jr.,90, of Kingsland, passed away May 1, 2019 at his residence.

Born September 24, 1928 in Toledo, Ohio, he was the son of the late Clinton and Loretta Christy Anstead.

Mr. Anstead had resided in Camden County for the past 30 years.  He served in the Merchant Marines, the United States Marine Corp, the United States Navy, and retired from the United States Air Force.

He enjoyed driving around, collecting clocks, and reading to his heart’s content.  His journeys included his smile, warmth, energy, love for life and family, including those friends and co-workers who became his family over time.

A Celebration of Mr. Anstead’s Life will be held at a later date.
