Debbie Pearson- September 29, 2019

Debbie Harrelson Pearson, of St. Marys, Georgia, departed this life on September 29, 2019 at Southeast Georgia Health Systems in Brunswick after a brief illness.

Debbie had resided in St. Marys for nearly 40 years and was a long-time hairdresser at Hair Designs. She was born on August 13, 1956 in Marion, South Carolina to the late Jeff Harrelson and Lelia Mae Harrelson Shelly. She was also preceded in death by brothers; Allen (Mary) Harrelson, Troy (Bernice) Harrelson, Jimmy (Bobbie) Harrelson and by a sister, Geneva (Buddy) Cook; niece Brenda Cooke and nephews, Donald and Ronald Harrelson and Kenny Harrelson.

Debbie is survived by sister, Shirley (James) Kaiser of Kingsland and brother, Larry (Nancy) Harrelson of Florence, South Carolina. Nieces and nephews, Dottie Gay of Kingsland, Glenda Cook, and Doug Cook, of South Carolina; Cheryl (Jack) Hancock, of Texas, Pam (Jeff) Tanchon, of Ohio, Cendy (Rick) Perkins of Waverly, Dean (Paula) Ballard of Kingsland, Melanie (Joseph) Britt of St. Marys, Jeffery (Voniceleigh) Harrelson of St. Marys, Jodie Harrelson of South Carolina and Amy Lucking of Colorado; 28 great nieces and nephews and 34 great-great nieces and nephews.

Debbie touched the life of countless people and her absence will resonate through out by all those she loved and cared for. She was her family’s free spirit and fierce protector.

A memorial celebration of Debbie’s life and love will be held at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, Saturday (October 5, 2019) from 1-3pm for all friends and family.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to the Camden County Humane Society, P.O. Box 1270, Kingsland, Georgia, 31548, in honor of Debbie’s deep love and devotion to animals. In heaven she rides horses and is surrounded by puppies.

Ambriella Velez- Sept 17, 2019

 

Ambriella Michelle Velez, 6 months, of Woodbine, died Tuesday morning(September 17, 2019) at her residence after a sudden illness. Ambriella was born in Gainesville, GA to Santos and Brittany Allen Velez and had recently moved to Woodbine with her family. She was a sweet and cheerful child bringing joy to those around her.

She is survived by her parents, Santos and Brittany Velez of Woodbine; three siblings, Isiah Velez, Joseph Velez, Kelton Velez; maternal grandparents, Robert and Rhonda Potts of Woodbine; paternal grandparents, Tony and Kathy Jacobs of Leesburg, GA; maternal great-grandparents, Anthony Wayne Toney of Forest Park, GA, Robert Potts, Sr. of Land O’Lakes, FL, Nancy Andies of Douglasville, GA; paternal great-grandparent, Betty Slaughter of Leesburg, GA; aunts & uncles, Ariel Futch (Johnathon), Ashley Foreman (Tommy), Anthony Allen, Jesus Ferrera, Davy Guzman, Kristina Miller (Robert), Jena Velez (Kellie), Cydnee Saunders (John), Jessica Brooke Potts; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

A funeral service will be held Friday (September 27, 2019) at 11:00am at Allison Memorial Chapel. Burial will follow in Kingsland Union Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends beginning at 10:00am at the funeral home. Pastor Curtis Cantrell will be officiating.

Latimer, Amanda Howard, Sept. 10, 2019

Amanda Jenease Howard Latimer, 42, of Collinsville, Ill, passed away Sept. 10, 2019, in Randolph County, Ill.

Memorial Services will be held from the gravesite at Oak Grove Cemetery, in St. Marys, GA, on Tuesday, Sept. 24, 2019, 11:30 am, with Pastor John Harris officiating.

Amanda was born in Jacksonville, FL, July 30, 1977, to Ralph Howard and Yvonne Dowling Crumley. She attended the Foundation School of Arts, Jacksonville Beach, FL, and had worked in the restaurant industry most of her life. She had lived in Illinois for the past 10 years.

Survivors include her parents, Ralph and Myra Howard of St. Marys, GA, and Yvonne and Harvell Crumley of Yulee, FL, her grandparents, Jeanette and Walter Dowling of Kingsland, her children, Katherine Barry of Illinois, Lindsay Swendsen (D.J.) of Virginia Beach, VA, and Abigail J. Crumley of Jacksonville, FL, step-brothers, Tim Jones of St. Marys, GA, Britton Crumley of Las Vegas, NV, Aaron Crumley (Tiqua) of Douglasville, GA and grandchildren, Haley Swendsen and Danny Lamb.

Libby Patterson, Sept. 14, 2019

Barbara Elizabeth ‘Libby’ Patterson, 77, of Kingsland, passed away Saturday, Sept., 14, 2019, at her residence.

Funeral services will be held from the gravesite at Homeward Cemetery in Waverly, on Tuesday, September 17, 2019, at 11:00 AM, with Rev. Eddie Rawls officiating. A visitation for family and friends will be held Monday, at Allison Memorial Chapel from 6:00 until 8:00 PM.

Libby was born October 20, 1941, in Woodbine, GA to Robert Cosby Lewis and Edith Ruth Cottle Lewis. She was a graduate of Camden County High School, and lived in Jacksonville, FL, most of her life, retiring from EverBank Mortgage Company after more than 20 years of service.

Survivors include her sons, Alan Sasser (Shannon) of Kingsland, and Kevin Sasser of Atlanta, 2 grandchildren, Brandon Sasser and Alaina Sasser, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William Orville Patterson, brothers, Jack Lewis, Ralph Lewis, and Lawrence Lewis, and a sister, Becky Ridenhour.

In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorial contributions to Hospice of the Golden Isles, 1692 Glynco Parkway, Brunswick, GA 31525.

LCDR, Ronald William Eichkoff, Sept. 4, 2019

LCDR Ronald William Eickhoff, (U S Navy, Ret.), 61, of Kingsland, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2019, at Southeast Georgia Health System in Brunswick.

Funeral services, with full military honors, will be held Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2019, 10:00 a.m., at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, Jacksonville, FL.

Ron is survived by his wife of 39 years, Julia Eickhoff, and their Son, HM2 Daniel Eickhoff, and Daughters, Miranda Lewis and Savannah Fletcher, grandchildren; Landon Eickhoff, Owen, Oliver, and Harlow Lewis, and Dominic Fletcher.

Ron was born March 2, 1958, in Highland Park, MI. He served with the United States Army from 1976 until 1980, joining the United States Navy in 1981. He was a Gulf War veteran and was commissioned in 1990 as an Ensign. Ron retired from the US Navy in 2006, after 30 years of Military service.
