Anita Marie Gregoire, 95, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully on July 1, 2017 at Southeast Georgia Senior Care Center in St. Marys.
Born November 9, 1921 in Lawrence, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the late Peter and Virginia Demers.
She resided with her husband in New England until 2003 when they relocated to St. Marys, Georgia. She was a devoted Catholic and a member of Holy Rosary Church in NH and Our Lady Star of the Sea in St. Marys. She met the love of her life, Roger, at age 19 who she was married to for 67 years, before he preceded her in death in 2009 and she now joins. She spent her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
A wonderful artist who loved to paint, she always enjoyed her shopping trips, Friday night dinners out, Sunday family gatherings and her mushroom burgers. Always there with a genuine smile, warn embrace and an open home to entertain, she never met a stranger.
She is survived by her daughters, Alice Sawyer (Bob), Judith Clark (Rod), Ginny Brandis, Carol Wagner (Joel); many grandchildren, many many great grandchildren, along with all the many friends and neighbors she made over her many years. In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her only son, Richard Gregoire.
A Funeral Mass will be held Friday, July 7, 2017 at 11:00 am at Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church with Fr. Mariusz Fuks officiating. Burial to follow at Oak Grove Cemetery in St. Marys. The visitation will be held at the church one hour prior to services.
