Georgia Fauls Stilson – August 17, 2017

Georgia Barrett Stilson, née Fauls passed away on August 17th in St. Mary’s, Georgia, surrounded by her family and many friends.  She is survived by her husband Colby; her 3 children, Jennifer, Colby and Hilary and their spouses; her twin brother John and his wife, and her 4 grandchildren, Heather, Stephen, Shane and Daniel.  She leaves behind a legacy of friends and family who will miss her dearly.

She was born on November 27, 1941 in Chicago, Illinois and married Colby Stilson Jr. on March 31, 1962 in Baltimore, Maryland. They recently celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary.  She and Colby raised their 3 children in Long Island, NY before making their home in St. Mary’s – always a devoted Chicago sports fan.

As an active volunteer in her community, Georgia touched the lives and hearts of everyone who knew her. Her generosity and love for life was unmeasured.  At the King of Peace Episcopal Church she was on the Vestry and Altar Guild.  Also, volunteering at the Humane Society, the Navy League, Camden House and the Southeast Georgia Hospital.  Not to mention her love for golf, this brought many other opportunities for volunteering.  2017 was the 14th year that she and Colby volunteered at The Players Golf Tournament at Sawgrass.

The service to honor and celebrate the life of Georgia Stilson will be at King of Peace Episcopal Church on Saturday, August 26th at 11:00am.  Reverend Al Crumpton will preside.

Memorial donations may be made in her name to King of Peace Episcopal Church located at 6230 Laurel Island Parkway, Kingsland, Georgia.

Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
