Jimmy R. McCarthy, 76, of Woodbine passed away Wednesday, November 8, 2017 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Born November 19, 1940 in Blackshear, GA, he was the son of the late John and Mamie Lee McCarthy. He was also preceded in death by the mother of his children, Catherine Mae McCarthy; and two sisters, Margie Ratcliff and Patricia Rucker.
Mr. McCarthy was a life long resident of Camden County, and attended Browntown Baptist Church. He was retired from White Oak Plantation with 31 year of service. He enjoyed fishing, and gardening, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be held Friday, November 10, 2017 at 3:00 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys with Pastor Joe McSwain officiating. Burial will follow at Oak Grove Cemetery. Pallbearers: Tom Bazley, Brandon Farmer, Bobby Farmer, Billy Farmer, Allen Farmer, and Donnie Moulson.
Survivors include his wife, Deborah McCarthy of Woodbine; daughters, Cathy Bazley (Tom) of Lakeland, FL, and Kelly McCarthy of Kingsland; brothers, David McCarthy of Blackshear, Travis McCarthy, and Atley McCarthy (Jeanette) all of Waycross; sisters, Lovonne Holmes of Blackshear and Marie Manning (Mike) of Albany; grandchildren, Catherine Ellen Bazley and Carolyn Elizabeth Bazley; several nieces and nephews.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
