Jennie Trotman, 77, of St. Marys, passed away Saturday, August 23, 2014 at Hospice of the Golden Isles in Brunswick.
Born July 17, 1937 in Brooklyn, NY, she was the daughter of the late Andres and Mercedes Vargas Cruz. She was also preceded in death by her husband Randolph McClaren Trotman.
Mrs. Trotman had resided in Camden County for the past two years. She had been a Girl Scout Leader for over 20 years in New York, and worked with Macy’s on charity events as well as the Macy Day Parades. She was always one to lend a helping hand to others when in need, never wanting or expecting anything in return. She enjoyed bowling and loved her volunteer work.
The family will receive friends at Allison Memorial Chapel on Friday, August 29, 2014 beginning at 5 pm with services at 5:30 pm with Fr. Mariusz Fuks officiating. Graveside services will be held on Saturday, August 30th, at Oak Grove Cemetery with Michael Cuthbertson officiating.
Survivors include a son, David R. Trotman (Belva) of St. Marys; daughter, Dawn Cuthbertson (Gregory) of St. Marys; sisters, Mercedes Shiedler (Edwin) of CA, and Estelle Cruz of FL; brothers, Andrew Cruz (Anna), John Cruz (Josephine), and Bobby Cruz (Maggie), all of NY; 5 grandchildren, Thelma Anderson, Laraina McKenzie, Christopher McAlpin, Michael Bell, and Tyreek Reilly; 4 great grandchildren, Anyah Johnson, Malachi Haynes, Antwone Haynes, and Kamren McAlpin.
Allison Memorial Chapel of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
