Nenita Cristobal Valdez, 63, of St. Marys died Tuesday morning (March 24, 2020) at Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville, Florida after an extended illness. Mrs. Valdez was born in Pangasinan, Philippines to the late Maximo and Juliana Dela Cruz Cristobal and made St. Marys her home since 2003. She worked as a nutritionist for many years for the Camden County Board of Education which carried over to one of her hobbies as an exceptional cook at home. She was an avid bingo player on the Mayport base in Jacksonville, a great dancer and karaoke performer. She loved shopping and was a member of Our Lady Star of the Sea Catholic Church.
In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by numerous siblings.
Mrs. Valdez is survived by her husband Elpidio T. Valdez of St. Marys; five children, Lanaida Valdez, of the Philippines, Pamela Cabaluna husband Reuben of Michigan, Christian Valdez wife Trinacia of Kingsland, Malik Valdez wife Dona of Maryland, Yelena Pinkney husband Antoine of St. Marys; six grandchildren; two sisters, Rosita Viernes, Helen Ynanon; numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.
A graveside service will be held Saturday (March 28, 2020) at 11:30am at Oak Grove Cemetery.
