Ruby Mudick – April 3, 2014

Ruby Marie Mudick, 85, of St. Marys, passed away peacefully at her residence with her family by her side on Thursday, April 3, Ruby was born May 3, 1928 in Henderson, Ky.  She was the daughter of the late Manley B. and Hallie Goodwin Robards.  She was also preceded in
death by her husband, Nicholas Mudick, sister, Dorothy Williams, and brother, Jimmy Robards.
Mrs. Ruby had been a resident of Camden County since 1954.  She
had been employed with Gilman Hospital prior to the hospital opening in
1960, retiring 38 years later, and was still working in the same capacity in the
business office when she started work in 1959.  On Friday, May 8, 1998, the
Mayor issued a proclamation, naming that day, “Mrs. Rudy Mudick Day”.
She was honored with a surprise luncheon on the lawn at Camden
Medical Center in St. Marys, with so many friends and family coming from far
and near.  She was a very special and loving woman who will be remembered
and loved forever.
Funeral services were held from the graveside at Oak Grove Cemetery in St.
Marys,  on Sunday, April 6, 2014, at 3 pm, with Pastor Steve Kegley
officiating.  The family received friends and family at Allison Memorial
Chapel in St. Marys, Saturday afternoon, April 5th, from 5 pm to 7 pm.
Survivors include her four daughters, Marie Ulmer (Roy) of St. Marys, Karen
Tyre (Joe) of Kingsland, Becki Hammett (Jimmy) of Colesburg, and Kim Bruce
(David) of White Oak; six grandchildren, Amy Richardson (Chris), James Ulmer
(Sara), Heather Metty (Matt), Jessica Huckaby (Paul), Tara Tyre (James), and
Hallie Bruce (Lance); 15 great grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mrs. Ruby, be made
to Heartland Hospice, 664 Scranton Road, Brunswick, GA  31520.
