Jessie Lee Lucas Ogden – March 4, 2015

Jessie  Lee Lucas Ogden, 89, of St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, March 4, 2015 at the Senior Care Center in St. Marys.
It is with a sad heart that we must say farewell to our loving mother and friend who was born July 17th 1925 in rural Mississippi. She lived in Memphis, Tenn., Imperial Beach, Calif. and Oceanside, Calif. during her long and fruitful life. She had a great disposition with a feisty personality. She was a great cook too, and folks always looked forward to enjoying a meal in her home. After her husband Norvel passed in Oceanside, she came to Saint Marys to be closer to her youngest daughter Brenda. Jessie lovingly referred to Brenda as her “little mother” for taking care of her during her elderly years.
Jessie was a God fearing lady that would do anything for those she knew and even those she didn’t know. She attended Crooked River Baptist Church for as long as her body would allow. Ms. Jessie spent her last few years under the loving and compassionate care of the angels at SEGH Senior Care Center in St. Marys. You may remember her from the billboard for the center and she’s holding a cup of tea! We will all miss her greatly as she was a beautiful and wonderful woman who loved her friends and family alike and never asked for anything in return.
She is survived by her sister Virginia, and two daughters, Judy the eldest with 2 sons who lives in Virginia and Brenda, her husband Dennis, with one son and one daughter. Ms. Jessie will be truly missed by all who knew her!  Go with God mother, we all love you.
Private memorial services will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, you may make a donation to the hospice of your choice.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.
