i was so deeply sadden by Mike’s passing. We were in band together in Ware County from 1979-1981. He was one of the most amazing trumpet players I have ever played in a band with. I will always have fond memories of our years under Daniel Gaultney. I will continue to remember his family in my prayers.my deepest sympathy.

Mike was both a teacher, a colleague, and a friend. He was my asst. band director & drum instructor at CCHS from 1989-93. I have SO many amazingly fond memories of him from those years! After I graduated and became a music educator myself, I was proud to call him colleague, and he never hesitated to give words of encouragement. My greatest blessing will always be knowing the love he showed and felt for me proved he was my friend. I will greatly miss his proud updates on Trey & Shelby, and his boasting of his love for Mrs. Mitzi on Facebook. And of course, that winning smile!
Until we can meet again in that glorious drum circle in the sky…….

As students at V.S.U., we were honored to have Mike play trumpet at our wedding many years ago. Mike was a great musician, and an all-around good guy. He will be missed by everyone who knew him. Our condolences to his family. May God be ever near during the coming days.
