Henry O. Phillips – December 9, 2015

Henry O. Phillips, 82, of St. Marys, passed  away on Wednesday, December 9, 2015 at UF Health Shands in Jacksonville, FL.
Born December 18, 1932 in Folkston, GA, he lived in the strength of God each day.  He was the son of the late William A. and Mary Jane Prescott Phillips.  He was also preceded in death by his brother, Donald Phillips.
Mr. Phillips had resided in Camden County for the past 58 years, and began his career at Gilman Paper Company in July 1956.  Following 39 years of service, he retired December 31, 1994.  He was a member and one of the founding members of Agape Christian Fellowship Church.  He enjoyed fishing and the rivers, and loved his Lord, Jesus Christ and his church.
Mr. Phillips was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving his country honorably during the Korean Conflict.  He was a loving husband, father, brother, son, grandfather and friend.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, December 14, 2015 at 12 noon at Agape Christian Fellowship Church with Pastor Jonny Rodgers officiating and with Military Honors.  The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to services at 11:00 am.  Burial will be private.
Survivors include his loving wife, Jean Phillips of St. Marys; daughter, Sandra Call (Dennis) of St. Marys; step-daughters, Debbie Anderson of St. Marys and Michelle Stanland (Erik) of Yulee, FL; brothers, Bob Phillips of Folkston, Jimmy Phillips (Joann) of Athens, and George Phillips of Americas; sisters, Willie Maude Johns and Mary Sue Murray (Ronnie) of Folkston; sister in law, Theo Phillips; 8 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.

    HENRY WAS ALWAYS SOFT SPOKEN, FRIENDLY AND EASY ON THE EARS. HE ALWAYS ADDED A CONCLUSION TO THE EVFENTS HE WAS INVOLED WITH AND THE PEOPLE IN HIS CIRCLES,. WE COULD ALWAYS DEPEND ON HIM FOR A WORD FROM THE WORD AND A SMILE TO GO WITH IT. WE LOVED THIS MAN AND HIS PERSON. FOR HIS PROMOTION WE SAY HAY. JIM AND CAROL MORRIS.
