Donald Victor LaChapelle – January 13, 2016

Donald V. LaChapelle, 85, of St. Marys, passed away Wednesday, January 13, 2016 at Sears Manor Nursing Home.
Born October 5, 1930 in Manchester, CT, he was the son of the late Victor and Anna Tack LaChapelle.
Mr. LaChapelle was a boxer during his military career, loved to hunt and was a gun enthusiast.  He was retired from the U.S. Marine Corp with 22 years of service, and served his country honorably during the Korean Conflict, and Vietnam.
Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 18, 2016 at 12 noon at Allison Memorial Chapel with Pastor Rick Douylliez officiating.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to services.  Burial will be held on Wednesday at the Jacksonville National Cemetery, with Military Honors.
Survivors include his wife, Elizabeth LaChapelle of St. Marys; six children, Michele deHeus (Don) of Marietta, Michael LaChapelle of Woodbine; March Lachapelle (Ginger) of Crawfordville, FL, Mitchell LaChapelle (Linda) of Swanzey, NH, Mariana George (James) of Kingsland, Ga, and Charlotte LaChapelle of St. Marys 16 grandchildren, Tina McCall (Hollis), John deHeus, Alice Turner (Rob), Sarah Fitzsimons (Patrick), Joseph LaChapelle (Angela), Nicole Furness (Eric), Jennifer Yaden (Jason), Jeffrey LaChapelle (Cheryl), Amanda Smith (Adam), Tiffany Joslyn (Rob), Elizabeth Pierce (Anthony), Victor LaChapelle, Alex George, James Michael George,
Rebekah George, and Gracelyn George; 19 great grandchildren.
The family requests memorial contributions in memory of Mr. LaChapelle be made to the Wounded Warriors Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, Kansas  66675.
Allison Memorial Chapel and Funeral Home of St. Marys is in charge of arrangements.

    So sorry to hear about Mr. Donald. He was a very sweet man and I really enjoyed caring for him. Jim and I will be remembering your family in our prayers. May God give you all peace and comfort during this time.
