Ronald Edward Keller, Ret. MMCS, US Navy – March 24, 2016

Retired Senior Chief Machinist Mate (MMCS), Surface Warfare (SW), Ronald E. Keller, passed away on Thursday, March 24th, 2016, at the age of 72.  Ron was born to Marvin E. Keller, Lt. Col. United States Army (retired) and Dollita Keller, in Warner Robins, Georgia on March 17th, 1944.  Ronald was a retired United States Navy Senior Chief, Former Commander of Local Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW) Post 8385, VFW Georgia State Commander (2012-2013), and former President of the Armed Forces Motorcycle Club (AFMC).  Ron’s favorite hobbies included fishing, model trains, and other outdoor sports.

Ronald is survived by his wife, Rebecca (Becky), brother, Alan Keller, and sister, Angela Keller; sons, Kenneth Keller, James Russell Alger, III and his wife Michelle; daughters, Felicia Hartley and her husband Tim (United States Navy, retired), Luana Alger, Crystal Freeman, Wendy Oberkirch and her husband Jack (United States Navy, retired); grandchildren, Logan, Dustin (United States Navy), Steven, and Chelsea Keller, Ashley Teeter, Ronald Stringfellow (United States Army, veteran), James and John Alger, Jemini (United States Army, veteran), Micheau (United States Army) and Kira Kelley, Jonathan (United States Marine, veteran), Matthew (United States Marine, veteran) and Rebecca Van Hesteren, and great grandchildren Guy Keller, Mickaylah Curtis, Rylee and Briana Van Hesteren, Justin Stringfellow, Jayden and Caleb Garrison, and Mabel Kelley.

Ronald was preceded in death by his mother and father, and great grandson Seth Dunford.

Ron was a loyal and devoted husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, shipmate, brother and friend. His smile, sense of humor, and unrelenting support for our country, our veterans, and anyone in need, will be sorely missed.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 28, 2016 at 4:00 pm at Allison Memorial Chapel in St. Marys, with Chaplain Gray officiating, and with full Military Honors. The family will receive friends one hour prior to services at 3:00 pm.

    what fond memories of this precious man! He brought cheer and laughter every time I talked to him! His sweet Mama always smiling and loved her family. Love and hugs to my WRHS Class of 1962 class mate! God bless my dear Kenneth and Felicia during the days and weeks to come. I love you all!

    May I offer my deepest sympathy with the loss of Ron. Ron was always as nice a person as anyone could ever hope to meet. He brought with him a lifetime of service to his country, family and his fellow Veteran.
    There is just no way to replace men like Ron.
